Major Russian Assaults Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to city officials.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has increased assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks overnight. A minor lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The strikes follow periods of air raids in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
